Drayton Hall is different. It is the real thing, and we are bound by our mission to preserve the property that is, to keep it in near-original condition just as the National Trust received it from the Drayton family in 1974.

a unique property on a unique setting. we opted to see this over the much pumped-up magnolia plantation. and we're glad we did. the fact that the house hasnt been recreated into some period setting with furniture and fixtures is appealing. you really see the history. and the location is easily accessible via car from downtown. a few garden walks to do after the well-guided tour, but not a whole lot else. had it not been 110 percent humidity outside, it would have been a nice place to have a picnic. plan for 1/2 a day.
